Türkiye builds fighter jets equipped with AI technology
Türkiye has started production of sixth generation fighter jets equipped with AI or artificial intelligence. A top official of the country's defense department confirmed the matter in an announcement on Friday. News Daily Sabah.
According to the news, Türkiye has already completed the production of the fifth-generation fighter aircraft with its own technology. The name of the warplane is 'Kan'. The plane was scheduled to take off last December but was postponed. However, it will fly in the sky very soon, said Haluk Gorgun, head of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB).
The sixth-generation fighter was announced before the launch of the fifth-generation fighter. Haluk Gorgun said that the fighter jet will be powered by AI or artificial intelligence. However, he did not give details about the features of the aircraft.
Earlier last year, the United States, Italy and Japan announced the creation of artificial intelligence warplanes. The three countries have signed an agreement to jointly develop a state-of-the-art fighter jet that can be piloted with the help of artificial intelligence. According to the contract, this fighter jet will be manufactured by 2035.
If necessary, this fighter can fly without a pilot. It will also be possible to launch hypersonic missiles from here.
